Living and Working in Jersey
Jersey welcomes skilled people to seek work on the Island, however preference is given to residents known as ‘Qualified’ these are people who have either lived on the island for 10 years, were born in Jersey, are the child of a person born on the island or child of a registered resident.
As Jersey is a small island there are restrictions placed on the accommodation that is available to rent or buy, those who are qualified residents are entitled to rent any type of accommodation they choose. All other persons can occupy ‘non-qualified’ accommodation; this covers a range of living accommodation from flats, apartments, bedsits, rooms studios and residential lodging accommodation in Jersey.
Lodging House Association
The accommodation advertised on this site is owned by members of the Lodging House Association, all our members properties are registered under the lodging houses law (regulated by the States of Jersey). The lodging houses must register each year, and are subject to a regime of minimum standards and annual inspection administered by the Population Office in order to maintain these standards and retain their registration.
The Lodging House Association is made up of members who own properties offering the above registered accommodation for occupation by ‘Non Qualified’ persons (who do not possess residential qualifications).
Please note there is no need to register on the site if you are browsing the properties looking for accommodation. The log in area is for use by Lodging House owners only.
